Live From a Floating Research Station

Hang out with researchers halfway around the world during a special live stream from the beautiful Solomon Islands, where Museum researchers are exploring the mysterious organisms that light up the ocean's dark waters, uncharted microbial life, and the rich diversity of fishes, corals, and other animals. The live stream will begin right here on Wednesday, September 25, at 4 pm ET.

Biologist Chris Filardi will give a tour of the research vessel Alucia, including a behind-the-scenes look at the on-board labs with ichthyologist John Sparks and microbiologist Eunsoo Kim. You might even catch a glimpse of the Triton submarine they're using to explore the deep sea.

Catch up on the scientists' recent dispatches from the field and post any questions you may have for them here by 1 pm ET.
